Filming the model throughout the shoot, writing their point of view
For
this project I intend to create black and white portraits, before the
shoot I will ask the models for their point of view on a current
subject/issue within the media/photography. I will then ask the model
to write their point of view onto a sheet of acetate and during them
writing their answer I will video them.
After,
I will start the portrait shoot, I plan to project their answer
written in their own handwriting onto them as I am shooting, using an
old school OHP projector. If I am unable to locate an OHP I plan to
scan in the acetate and overlay them onto the images on Photoshop. I
also plan to record the model speaking their point of view to add as
another layer in the video.
I
want the models to have their eyes closed during the shoot as I feel
'the eyes are the window to your soul' and I would like there to be a
hint of mystery of the identity of the models, this was inspired by a
book called 'The New Yorkers'.
I
have a few questions to contemplate to ask the models, I may ask a
few and see which ones work up the best answers and opinions.
The
questions I have in mind is...
'Do
photographers 'make' pictures or 'take' pictures?'
'Can
you trust photographers with the technology available to manipulate
these days?'
'As
a member of the public, how do you feel about street photographers
rights?'
'Why do you take photographs?'
'Why do you take photographs?'
